WHY HELP US MAKE CROSSWORDS?

We have a great cast.  FRED KEATING, LORI TRIOLO, CRAIG MARCH, GILLIAN BARBER, and TYRONNE L’HIRONDELLE – could you ask for anything better?

CROSSWORDS is a great script!  It should be.  It’s had more work done on it than Joan Rivers!

It finished 2nd out of field of 100 in the first Hot Shot Shorts Contest.  
It finished in the top 10 out of a field of 300 in the CBC Signature Short Contest.
It finished in the top 20 of a field of 1,000 in the American Gem Screenwriting Contest. 

The winners of these competitions received heaps of money and in-kind services.
Sadly, CROSSWORDS only received heaps of praise.  But films cost money.  The budget for CROSSWORDS is $50,700. 

Of this staggering amount, $44,100 has been raised, through donations from our equipment suppliers (who are cutting us a great deals), and through the generosity of our cast and crew who are volunteering their time and tremendous talent. 

THE BOTTOM LINE

Over the next month we have to raise $6,600 to cover hard costs such as:

• Craft Services (there are no free lunches, dinners, breakfasts or snacks)
• Equipment and Post (no free lunches here either)
• Insurance (we always gotta pay “The Man”)
• Locations/City Permits (more paying of “The Man”)
• Contingency (for things that go wrong – ‘cause they always do in film)

Tonight, through your generous donations (see silent auction and estate sale), we hope to raise $4,000 towards that amount.  Whatever we can’t raise will end up on our personal Visa and Master Cards…the unofficial sponsors of our film! Remember…
